~~~RECREATION~~~ Huntington is now a relatively quiet little town with the cessation of steam railroading in the early 1950's and bypassed by the new Interstate Highway 80, (now I-84) in the late 1960's. It however, retains it's charm as a sportsman's paradise with excellent fishing and boating on the Snake River. Migratory water fowl and upland bird hunting in the autumn hold a special attraction for many hunters who come to Eastern Oregon.
